After Fred loyally committed to scoring impeccably for Becky CC both home and away for years it was a joy to meet Fred and Joan regularly as spectators during the half time tea interval. Always happy, we used to have a good natter and lots of laughs and it was most noticeable how very much Fred loved Joan and all of his Family and of course his cricket. He will always be remembered. I have fond memories of playing cricket with Fred in the 70's as a colt growing up. It was a fun time for us juniors and we learn't a considerable amount from the older members of the team, such as Fred. Thereafter you were our 1st XI umpire and scorer for many years, and I believe enjoyed watching our development and success at BCC. As a batsman I didn't trouble you as our scorer as much as I would have liked, but you were always a friendly face upon returning prematurely to the pavilion! RIP.
